On December 16th, 2010 one of Daniel Boone’s Odyssey of the Mind Teams (who fondly refer to themselves as “The Purple Pug Mugs”) visited American Crane and Equipment Corporation in Douglassville, PA. American Crane is recognized as a leader in the design and manufacture of electric overhead traveling cranes, wire rope hoists, and custom engineered lifting equipment. Students learn about complex material handling problems that American Crane’s engineers solve. During this visit they were given a full site tour highlighting the companies engineering capabilities and manufacturing facility. They also participated in a Q and A session with the company’s president and one of the lead application engineers.
