One of the more complex custom projects the company has recently supplied is equipment to demonstrate that a contaminated nuclear site could be remotely de-contaminated using robotic manipulators.

This project featured 33 independent axles of motion to accomplish the task, as well as a vacuum system.

Another recent project involved developing a fuel handling system to transfer commercial spent fuel outside of the fuel pool. This project concentrated on developing equipment to handle the very high radiation field.

ACECO also routinely provides equipment to the US Department of Energy for handling nuclear materials and other specialized applications.
